11th Annual JCB Research & Awards Celebration
Time TBD
After a second year of extraordinary challenges, we want to celebrate the accomplishments of our members, students, graduates, faculty, and ethicists for 2021-22! This year’s JCB Research & Awards Celebration will feature either an in-person or virtually-held awards presentation. Normally we also hold a poster competition, but we will have to wait to determine if this event will be on campus or online due to the COVID-19 situation.
This year’s faculty recognitions and awards include:
- Christine Harrison Bioethics Education Award for Integration of Theory and Practice
- Ross Upshur Course Director Award
The student awards this year are:
- Larry Librach Prize in Ethics and End of Life Care
- Mervis-Simon Family Award in Bioethics
- Martin McKneally Capstone Project Award
- Peter A. Singer Award in Bioethics
We'll be sending a registration link and awards call for submissions in Spring 2023.
Innovation Showcase Poster Display & Competition (TBD 2023)
The Innovation Showcase Poster Display & Competition will feature recent scholarly work by members of the JCB community, including students and trainees, faculty, ethicists, and alumni. There will be two poster competitions: i) student/trainee and ii) open. Awards will be given for the best student/trainee poster and the best open poster. To participate in the Innovation Showcase, please submit the information via the online form. All submissions must be received by 5:00 pm with the date to be determined.
Poster submissions can be original submissions or posters that were previously presented at conferences during the 2022-23 academic year.
Please note: Posters must be delivered to us by 2:00 pm on the day before the event in order to be included in the display and competition. Posters will be available for pick up either immediately after the showcase or the following day.
