March 1, 2023 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm EST

Full Title:
The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence for Public Health in Canada

Speakers:
Heather Dekker – MHSc Bioethics Graduate, Joint Centre for Bioethics, University of Toronto

Abstract:
Constructive use of new technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), can provide benefits to individuals and society. There is a need to include informed ethical perspectives in the design, application, and adoption of these technologies, and in the shaping of policy development and governance structures related to their use. This seminar will describe the Martin McKneally Capstone Project Award-winning work which explores ethical concerns and considerations of using AI for public health in Canada.
