Current Research Projects
- I am co-investigator on a University of Toronto University of Toronto McLaughlin Centre for Molecular Medicine grant entitled Whole genome sequencing in paediatric care: An informed implementation. This project is a pilot research study to begin empirically examining parent perceptions/expectations regarding whole genome sequencing (WGS) and their experience with the consent process as well as clinician expectations/challenges regarding WGS.
- I lead a GE3LS (Genetics, Ethics, Environment, Economic Legal Social Issues) project to examine the experiences of a targeted group of patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder or their substitute decision makers involved in the early use of Whole Genome Sequencing. This work is part of a larger Genome Canada grant entitled Autism Spectrum Disorders: Genomes to Outcomes.
